I upgraded from Debian 6.0.x (Squeeze) to 7.0 (Wheezy). I now get

    root@yendi:~# apt-get dist-upgrade
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    Calculating upgrade... Done
The following packages have been kept back:
      ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 2 not upgraded.
    root@yendi:~#

I have made the changes suggested at
http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=23561, which are to run

    dpkg --add-architecture i386

and add

    [arch=amd64,i386]

between the deb and the URL in each line of your /etc/apt/sources.list

Running "apt-get upgrade" returns no errors. I still get the results
above. I currently have:

    root@yendi:~# pre ia32-libs ia32-libs-gtk
    ia32-libs 20130215 amd64
    ia32-libs-gtk 20120102 amd64
    ia32-libs-gtk-i386 1:0.1 i386
    ia32-libs-xulrunner 1.8.1.3-0.5 amd64
    root@yendi:~#

These are transitional packages, so I should be able to remove
them. There are still dependencies on them: acroread* acroread-data*
acroread-debian-files* acroread-dictionary-en* acroread-escript*
acroread-l10n-en* ia32-libs* ia32-libs-gtk* ia32-libs-xulrunner*
mozilla-acroread* nspluginwrapper* skype*

Thoughts? Suggestions?
