Make sure that your local mail server does not know about "mydomain.com". Otherwise it will try to deliver it locally. In other words, if a domain is to be delivered locally there is usually a file that contains all local domains (eg /etc/mail/local-host-names). If the domain is listed there, that means this server is the endpoint. Remove the domain from that file. I know that is not a specific solution, but I am not overly familiar with Postfix.
