I've set everything up just like I did on my work computer (I think), but on my home computer, I now have the input method selector on my gnome shell top bar, but it won't change. I have English (US) and Japanese in the list, but if I select Japanese from the menu or Meta+Space (and see the selector), it just goes back to EN.
I've tried anthy (first, that's what I use at work), and now just the generic Japanese, and a couple of other languages. It doesn't appear to be a problem with Japanese or anthy, I just can't seem to switch the input method from English, no matter what I'm trying to switch to. What logs would I look in to see what's wrong? I don't see anything in /var/log/messages, or any ibus logs in ~/.cache or /var/log. I don't know how to troubleshoot this. Any ideas?
