You must have it confused with something else.  BeagleBone Black's (
http://beagleboard.org/BLACK) are arm Cortex-8 SoCs.    When looking at
these different SoCs.  I got the Radxa Rock.  Unfortunately, I haven't had
time to play with it yet.  Both are more powerful than a Pi.  Both have
several linux distros that can be used on it, including Gentoo.  Both also
can run FreeBSD.
