On my HTPC, I can get vlc and mplayer to play audio over HDMI. For mplayer I have: ao=alsa:device=hw=0.3
in my .mplayer/config and that fixes it. But I want to use vidangel.com, so I'm trying to get google-chrome-stable playing to HDMI instead the internal speaker. I've tried several combinations using the chrome --alsa-output-device startup option and the ALSA_CONFIG_PATH environment variable, but I haven't had any success. This is in a pretty bare openbox environment (no GNOME or KDE, no pulseaudio). Has anybody figured out how to configure chrome to use a different audio output device?
