well, your time is valuable and up to you to choose how to spend it. I would be curious to know why it isn't working in your case if there is any information that helps sort that out. It may be possible for me to alter the plugin to avoid that case, should other users be in the same situation. the d_source log should show messages for what command is used. '-' means native. From what you have mentioned, it seems that you are playing native. I'll try playing flac to softsqueeze tomorrow and see if I can find anything on my setup.
