I got my SB2 last week and couldn't get AlienBBC to work (XP/Pro on an old PC) - I *THOUGHT* I'd done all the things I was supposed to (installed mplayer, lame and flac). While pokeing around the various files that were installed I came across the comment in slimserver-convert.conf which told me to drop 6 lines and uncomment a futher 6 if I was using "mplayer pre7 or later". I am, I did, and it all worked like a charm.
