Why are redundant and oddly named
items like the following displayed in my playlist.
For instance.
1. Camera Obscura - Keep It Clean
2. (#2 - 447/17780) SomaFM presents: Indie Pop Rocks! [SomaFM]

3. (#3 - 14/15) SomaFM presents: Indie Pop Rocks! [SomaFM]

4. (#4 - 10/10) SomaFM presents: Indie Pop Rocks! [SomaFM]

#1. makes sense, it's what's playing... but the rest are useless as far
as I'm concerned. I don't get it. Bug or feature?

Redundancy very often is a feature. In the case of some professional shoutcast streams redundancy is used to risk interruption of a channel by streaming it over several different machines in different places. What you see is a playlist with the same stream published using four machines. If the first fails, your player will automatically pick up the second. etc.

What is presented in the playlist is the information that is submitted by shoutcast's server. Slimserver can pick up the music information only for the currently played stream.

I hope this helps.
