It was amazing to discover Midnight Commander. I had no idea such
application existed. It made me, an old DOS NC user, right at home.
Unfortunately, many MC options, like F4 Edit, do not work. Is that
because DSL build is so limited? Perhaps, a suggestion for the next

That's most likely a bad terminal setting, i.e. your function keys are
not mapped correctly.
I'm afraid that's about the extent of the help I can offer - keyboards
and character sets are rather a black art as far as I'm concerned!
