Hey there Michael Figured out what the problem was from what you were asking me. Being a complete linux noob (this being my first ever experience with the OS) I hadn't mounted the hard drive I have now mounted it using mount /mnt/hda1/ it now shows up in the mount list, also under dev/hda1 everything works fine now. However, the update feature in slimcd no longer works (404 errors) which means that I have to downgrade firmware :( Going to install fedora onto this computer after I format it anyway Jono
