Could you enable plug-in debugging and see if it provides any useful
info?

>From the web interface choose "Server Settings" and then "Debugging". 
>From this page select the "d_plugins" check box and hit "change".  Then
at the top of the debugging web page there is a link to view the most
recent log entries.  It will open up a new web browser to
http://localhost:9000/log.txt.  Now try selecting the SuperDateTime
screen saver again.  Hopefully it'll show some output.  If this doesn't
work you'll have to start the server from the command line with
debugging turned on (I'll give you instructions if it gets to that
point, although I think there are some messages earlier in this thread
that explain how).

Please let me know what happens, there must be a bug somewhere that is
impacting some, but not all people.
