Good question. Somehow I overlooked that screensaver when I was browsing the plugins page on slimdevices.com. I'd be willing to bet if I saw it, I would have not written mine. My saver uses a different weather source. I would say parsing the XML @ www.weather.gov is less likely to break compared to parsing the HTML data @ www.weather.com. I could be wrong, however. I have noticed that my local weather station XML feed is not always updated every 60 minutes like they say it is. Sometimes 3 or 5 hours pass before the temp is updated. Definately a drawback to my saver. As a spin off of this learning I have done, perhaps I will write a plugin that fetches the XML weather warnings from www.weather.gov and sound an alarm if a major event in the area is occuring. I bet I could use the announcement05.pl plugin with my util. -- yzf600 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
