I'm not surprised as that's the area I think I've tested the least (or even not at all!), and I think you're probably right that there's something extra to do to get 'non-English' characters to display.
I can reproduce with my Björk album (which displays fine through the normal browserdb methods), that so I think I'll be able to track it down.
