I think I've managed to add a partial workaround for the 'duplicate artists' problem that a number of people have been seeing. You can download it from the normal place (hopefully the right URL this time!):
http://hickinbottom.demon.co.uk/slimserver/lazy-searching/lazy-searching2.htm This should fix the problem if you have playlists and do a 'rescan for changes' or a 'rescan playlists only'. It *will not* fix the problem if you use 'browse music folder' to introduce newly added music to the library, however. The workaround isn't very nice, I'm afraid. It has to temporarily undo the lazy index of the artists prior to the rescan taking place, and then put it all back again after. The problem with this is that it can cause the server to become unresponsive for a few seconds (with possible stalling of playback). I'm sorry about that, but I think that's the best I can do without a modification to the core SlimServer software. I've posted a request to the developers' list for two modification options that would hopefully solve this problem completely.
