I am a bit new here, but if I understood your question well, I'm affraid that a hardware client of Slimserver handles the signals faster than its software counterpart: in a computer, the various digital/analog signals must be handled by a massive chain of treatments, through the software and the OS, prior to be heard. In a Squeezebox, most part is hardwired, so faster handled...
I heard about "synching" two Squeezeboxes: may I suggest you to post a question about how to synchronize a SoftSqueeze/SqueezeBox pair ? If it's not possible, the only way would be to implement an electronic, adjustable delay line between the Squeezebox and the amplifier... but that's a heavy solution.
