Just got SlimCD up and running on an old dual PII w/ 256Meg of RAM.
Seems to be working OK, except the graphics in the window are almost
impossible.
You're in doubt about my artwork?!? :-)
Since I know NOTHING about Linux, can anyone let me know
how to change the color depth and resolution? Also, any suggestions
for changing the name of the box, too, would be great.
What graphics card are you using? With that processor I fear it must be
quite old ;-). Maybe not powerful enough for the default settings.
When you're in the boot prompt "...your slimserver on a cd", hit F3 -
you'll get a list of possible video settings. Step gently and run eg.
dsl vga=84
This should give you some decent 32k colors, but a resolution of today's
powerfuls PDA's - 640x480. If this is successful, gently increase
resolution and color depth, until things break.
dsl vga=790
should give you a reasonable resolution (default 1024x768) with still
usable 32k colors.
Did this help?
