I've added frq to types.conf and i did get further, but now it is telling me /dev/radio0 is busy (which I go past before by fixing permissions). This time, it seems that permissions are not the problem. oddly, typing the command manually spits out a load of binary output to the console. Redirecting to a wav file does seem to create a nice large file, but slimserver can't deal with it, more than likely because it isn't properly closed off.
