I've not seen it reported before, and have only come across it when using SlimCD 1.5. I'll try and reproduce the problem this weekend and give you more details. I don't know why VolumeLink/VolumeGuard should be interacting with AlienBBC as the former are both disabled in my setup, however moving Volume*.pm out of the Plugins directory (I moved them into Plugins/save) appears to fix the problem.
