Compile MPlayer with this option in configure
--enable-runtime-cpudetection
It give a bigger executable but should run on any Intel/AMD processor.
I compiled a new mplayer. Please open a shell from within SlimCD, then:
sudo su
cd /usr/local/bin
wget http://www.herger.net/slim/mplayer
chmod a+x mplayer
...and give it another try (on your PII). Thanks in advance!
