I'm on windows in a corporate network so there could be problems to tunnel port 445 and 139(?).
The idea of tunneling in this case is to pipe data, that is blocked otherwise, through the pinhole that is allowed. If you can connect to a ssh server outside your office, you can tunnel almost anything through ssh.
Can I just copy the database file to my computer and scan it localy?
I think Moose creates its own database and therefore hast to access your files, not only the slimserver database.
