well, slim.exe would be running as you, the user.

the service would be running as the system user.

Permissions can vary, mainly when using network mapped drives for one.

you can run the service, turn on d_source and open a browser to http://serverIP:9000/log.txt
and look at what the problem is there.

If you are using mapped drives, there is an item in the FAQ for dealing with shared volumes
