Ok, a bit more progress. A command line run of mplayer results in the same problem, and it occurs with Sofsqueeze and SB, but the above proves it's mplayer that's the problem.
I tried running with the -ac racook switch, but get an error re: not finding cook.so.6.0 (I seem to have cook.so). it's also looking for it in a win32 path, is this normal? (/usr/local/lib/win32). I think getting the external realaudio codec working is the most sensible trial! Any ideas? Thanks, Andy. -- Andrew L.
