mencoder already in the path is in the path at /usr/local/bin when I echo PATH from term. I added it and the path to mencoder.sh to the .profile still nothing. Perhaps the shell that the prefpane uses doesn't read that .profile file? I'm going to search around other OSX boards and see if I can come up with anything.... Onc again thatnks for the help
