Direct Update is the only option that works on OSX at the moment. It refers to whether iTunes Update will perform updates in iTunes in real-time or save them to a log file to be applied later. This is useful if either A) your iTunes doesn't run on the same box as SlimServer B) you want automatic updates from iTunes but not the performance hit from rescanning after every song (unlikely) The script that does the updates only works on Windows at the moment. I posted a test version for OS X a while back but need some testing from Mac users to get it working.
