I'm doing it:

I am using a program called "Atyourservice" from www.prismmicrosys.com
to convert SoftSqueeze into a service. Very simple with this program
and works like a charm (don't forget to turn off "interact with
desktop" or you'll have SoftSqueeze popping up all the time).

I'm doing it for two reasons:
1) So I can run Moose without having to bother about SoftSqueeze. It's
just as if Moose was the player. Works very well when listening on my
computer.

2) I am synchronising the serviced SoftSqueeze to my SB3. I'm building
a media server (in the process - not done yet) and the idea is to use
my SB3 as the interface. I like SB3, looks good in the sitting room,
like the remote. But it is not good enough as a digital source to my
external DAC (missing balanced output, no word clock) so I need the
media server to host a professional sound card which has all that (Lynx
Two).
To the sitting room user though, it will appear as if the SB3 is
playing - only it is really the slaved SoftSqueeze on the PC doing it.
I also tried SqueezeSlave but that didn't behave very well. Funny
pauses and got out of synch quite often. SoftSqueeze works better.
