It's a mystery to me! After the similar problems with the Scrobbler plugin I was thinking that it's the use of perl FindBin module to specify other module locations, but then I noticed I don't use that any more!
I'd really like to see the SlimServer output from startup with the --d_plugins flag set, to see if the plugin is failing to load for some reason or just not being found at all.
