Hi all, I've been struggling with the AlienBBC install (so, what else is new?) on a Linux Fedora Core 5 system. After following the excellent tutorials at http://www.ripcaster.co.uk/node/18 and http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_AlienBBC_on_Slimserver I feel like I'm almost there. The standalone tests of mplayer from the linux command line show that all is well -- no errors (no speakers to prove definitively, but no errors in the output).
The problem is, when I actually try to play a BBC station on the Squeezebox, the display reads, "RTSP file error". The instructions on gentoo-wiki say, "Login to the SlimServer web interface (default http://slimservname:9000) and check that AlienBBC is listed under Radio." Check. "...Next, go to Server Settings > File Types and look for the section: RTSP FLAC mplayer.sh/flac RTSP MP3 mplayer.sh/lame RTSP WAV mplayer.sh Check NOT. I see *no* entries at all in the File Types menu for RTSP. Any ideas? Thanks.
