The problem definitely _is_ ZoneAlarm, but I can't seem to get around it. I made slimserver, mplayer and socketwrapper trusted apps, as you said, and installed Ian Cook's modifed socketwrapper - but my Squeezebox still wouldn't connect. But then as soon as I switch off ZoneAlarm it all works. Of course, I don't want to keep ZoneAlarm switched off permanently, so this is not a satisfactory long term solution.
All very frustrating! Any more ideas...?
