Ah, interesting - I am guessing that you're listening via the stream.mp3 address rather than running Softsqueeze on the Clie?
I don't think the plugin behaves properly with the stream because the code is keyed on the mac address of the players, but this is only populated for hardware players. I had a similar problem in the LastFM plugin, so I can fix this but it requires quite a lot of changes - will put it on the 'to-do' list...
