I've just gone to download the latest and greatest, but after downloading the .jar version it still reports .8 rather than .9.
Where did you download it from? The "official" latest & greatest is 0.8. There's a copy here in the forums which is much more recent, but does not display 0.9 yet (as it's not an official release :-)).
