Wouldn't it be an idea if connected USB disks would be mounted
automaticaly?

I don't know that low level stuff good enough (I'm basically adding some perl, java and slimserver to a DSL -> damnsmalllinux.org). But I think it's not in there right now.

And maybe having the SSH deamon running automaticaly?

You can do this in several ways. How are you currently running SlimCD? From CD? Or did you install it in some way?

You could
- add sshd to the startup line ("dsl sshd")
- install SlimCD to USB stick/HD/CF card - in that case you can define additional parameters for startup - use /opt/bootlocal.sh to start ssh and mount your device; if you do backup your configuration to eg. a usb stick or a harddrive, it will be restored at next startup

If the purpose of the SlimCD is to have a very small SlimServer,

It's _not_. The plan was to have a demo CD to convince people, that slimserver (and AlienBBC) can be run on almost any PC. Being able to build a low power slimserver is just a nice side effect ;-)
