Strange problem here - just upgraded my PC to new hardware. When I try
to conect to a channel on Alien BBC my network dies, including external
internet access. I have to reboot the server to restore functionality
(it is a headless server so I have no way to communicate with it once
the LAN dies)
Server is Athlon 2.2G running Debian Sarge
I have tried mplayer pre7 and pre8 with the same results
I have tried SS6.3.1 and 6.5 nightly (with the appropriate Alien
version) and no change
mplayer runs fine with the test script - it connects, fills the cache
and starts playing.
I increased the verbosity level on mplayer in slimserver-convert.conf
to capture exactly where everything dies, and it appears to be on the
filling buffer. It is as though the stream connection is hogging all my
bandwidth.
A trace of the mplayer output captured after network dies is attached -
any help appreciated
