Well I've made some progress. Softsqueeze outputs through ALSA and arecord(1) can use its dsnoop thingy to copy the output sound. So doing
SoftSqueeze & arecord -t cd -f raw -Dplug:dsnoop | goom2 sends audio stuff to goom2.
