Hi, bpa, Sorry, I thought the log snippet I provided had this info -- I turned it on the debug switches in the interface prior to connecting to the BBC program. Should I be looking elsewhere than slimserver.log?
To answer your questions: 1) It does indeed. It takes a while to buffer but does play. 2) I have a custom-types.conf but it's in the top-level slimserver dir not in the Plugins/Alien dir. I've grabbed this and custom-convert.conf from the dist and added them in. I'm no longer getting the error but it isn't working either. I have to run just now, but I'll try turning the debug switches back on and restarting just to make sure they're in effect.
