Cool! This has now allowed me to have full "normal" functionality
while the alarm is playing except now I can't figure out how to trigger

that's not quite as simple, which is why the plugin has it's own mode.
you'd have to edit Default.map, or create a custom.map with an entry
under [playlist]
snooze = modeFunction_AlarmPlugin->snooze
or something along those lines.
