You're right about the skip forward/backward option slowing down as a result of deleting the bandwidth parameter. I can confirm that I have V1.0pre8 of Mplayer although I can't determine that it is post Jan. 2006. I guess I will just have to live with the limitation and hope that a fix eventually comes along.
