All slimserver browsing should be done this way. I realise that's probably a big step (I don't think it will make v6.5 :) but it really is the mutt's nuts, poodle's plums, dog's danglies, etc. etc. Slimserver could come with a default configuration (and a way to revert to the default config if the user screws up somehow) and have an (web) interface that allows the user to edit the menu structures to best suit their needs. Sort of like it does at the moment, but allowing custom defined browse structures to added to the menu. There could even be pre-defined menu structures available for the user to add to the menu, if required. The HTML code to display the structures would be more complex, but it would be genericised, i.e. one set of code would cater for all browse structures. erland, take a bow.
