OK, fixed it. The log said this: 2006-09-18 17:36:13.1200 Requiring Plugins::LazySearch2 plugin. 2006-09-18 17:36:13.1402 Bareword found where operator expected at C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server/Plugins/LazySearch2.pm line 2351, near "et" (Might be a runaway multi-line '' string starting on line 2112) 2006-09-18 17:36:13.1403 (Missing operator before et?) 2006-09-18 17:36:13.1407 Can't require Plugins::LazySearch2 for Plugins menu: Unrecognized character \xC3 at C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server/Plugins/LazySearch2.pm line 2351. (as a reminder: this is what is stopping me load the "latest" plugin you pointed me at earlier) I note that line 2351 is a Danish string and it has a ' character in it which my Perl-aware editor doesn't like... so I went to 2112 which is the opening of the strings routine and noted that you are using the ' character to delimit the strings, which obviously doesn't work if you have unbalanced ' characters in the middle of it. One workaround would have been to delete the ' from the Danish string on 2351, but I noted that other plugins don't seem to use ' (actually the four or so that I sampled all used something different!). Not sure what best practice is, but I substituted " for ' at the beginning and end of the strings routine and it now loads correctly. Now back to the original problem - we'll see whether it survives tonights scheduled scan!
