It is a surprise. I've been running SlimServer for almost as long as the company has existed on Windows and it's been entitely reliable (barring a few bugs). I've also tried loads of versions of Linux/FreeBSD including Michael's SlimServer CD (but not Clark Connect) and had the utmost trouble doing the simple and basic necessities (like mounting drives). Windows is simple (assuming you know it). Linux is a learning curve that, if you only want it for Slimserver, can be a waste of time, adding very little advantage.
