Excellent - the simplest solutions are sometimes the best ! Completely unistalled and started again Reinstalled slimserver 6.5 and the AlienBBC into the Plugins directory, copied mplayer over to the \bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread directory (for some reason it had auto installed into the plugins dir), restarted and bingo !! McAffee still running and all's well. Thanks for your help. Mark
