There seems to be several problems involved here. 1. There is a bug in the Years menu in Custom Browse. Same bug also exists in the Years menu in standard slimserver. The bug makes all "No Album" albums appear below "Unknown" years. This feels incorrect to me if I actually have set the YEAR tag on these tracks but just haven't set the ALBUM tag. The decades menu should handle this correct already today and shows these albums under correct decade in a"No Album" entry.
2. The "Look for new and changed music" option doesn't work the same way as the "Clear library and rescan everything" in regards to tracks with no album. - I removed the ALBUM tag on an existing track and performed rescan with "Look for new and changed music". The result is that it doesn't connect the album to "No Album" it just removes the album text. The even worse thing is that this will result that the album information is cleared also on all other tracks on that album, these tracks actually still have an ALBUM tag and wasn't part of the rescan since they were not changed. - If I perform rescan with "Clear library and rescan everything" it behaves differently. Becase then it will correctly connect the track to the "No Album" entry. I think your problems might be solved if you just perform a full rescan. I also think you probably might have albums without any text if you browse your music in the standard slimserver Album menu, because thats what I get if I don't perform a full rescan after I have removed ALBUM tags. The Songs entries in the Custom Browse menu is the same entries as the blank entries you probably have in the standard browse menu.
