That has never worked for me either but you should see all your playlists under the new tree function. Go to Tools -> Open Tree then expand Server and then Playlists. You should be able to load the playlist by double clicking on it or right clicking then add/insert etc. However I admit that this is a pain when you make a couple of changes and want to resave.
