I would not be surprised if SlimServer is doing something a bit wierd ... the reason my compilations have an empty "Album Artist" tag (rather than an entry of "Various Artists") is because of some past weirdness in SlimServer related to WMA tags (did I mention that my files are WMA Lossless files?), having to do with the "Album Artist" tag for compilation albums.
I'm having problems reproducing the bug here.. Which program do you use to tag the WMA's ? Do you have any small ones which you could send me off-list ? Oh, and it's definitely the release 6.5 that you're using, not a nightly ?
