One thing. You've seen the pretty long list of terms Chartlyrics is ignoring in title searches? I think that might be what causes the errors in the literal search.
That wouldn't explain eg. the "Dance Away" by "Roxy Music" case. Even without those stop words this should never become "Gonna Make You Sweat
(Everybody Dance Now)" by "C&C Music Factory" :-).
It also seems to remove leading numbers, or are you doing that?
