An update: I tried the plugin on a win LMS setup - my Touch appeared as an Airplay device in Tuneblade! Then it failed to connect. Grrr!
I restarted Win LMS which then totally fell apart ... no further progress as I uninstalled Win LMS - couldn't take the hassle of trying to fix it. I then spent hours getting Max2Play LMS to run on a Pi 1 ... this offers the option to install the disaster Shairtunes. Finally after hours of installing/reinstalling, this worked. More interestingly, the Touch appears as an airplay device in Tuneblade and connects! and works! All very bizarre.
