I've got the same issue. Also located in the Netherlands. I'm still using the Spotify plugin from Triode (v.2.3.9) which I have been using without any issues the last years. I have 4 different Squeezebox players in the house. All have same issue.
First I thought it was Wifi related so I connected my SB classic to UTP cable.
