The automatic casting seems to be bug (or maybe future feature?) Google introduced in a recent update to Google Home or maybe Google Play: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromecast/00b79rIKacA Rebooting the phone may help or uninstalling Google Home could possibly help too. I think it only affects some versions of Android.
