That make me a lot of sense - I had the same issue a few weeks ago and that was due to some PLC plugs acting messy with UDP frames. As a result, lots of dropped frames, lots of repeat and the system could not keep up - happened as well with iTunes talking natively to multiple airport devices LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2.
