It IS about different philosophies. He chose to add the functionality
you wanted even though it required him to do so in a manner I would
consider a waste of resources. While I chose to keep the app as lean as
possible. Different developers have different priorities when it comes
to the design and features of an app.

Yes I know he has rewritten iPeng several times, but a few times was
because changes in iOS broke backwards compatibility and forced him to
rewrite and I commend him for doing it.

Judging the "commitment, capabilities, quality and budget" of a
developer based solely on what you see in an app is a simplistic view
and it's​ a little insulting.  Do you actually know the challenges
a developer faces when developing for these two platforms? I would never
comment on an iOS developer's​ capabilities just because their iOS
app is not as good similar apps on Android because I have no idea what
it's​ like to write for iOS.
