I have recently experienced a similar problem @Philippe.
I use LMS 7.9.0 - 1488878280 with Castbridge 0.2.7.3
I have not made any updates lately to either (as far as I'm aware), but
I have frequently updates my Windows client OS (due to the 'WannaCry'
threat) as well as my QNAP NAS servers where LMS is running in Docker.

I experience the following now (never before):
When an album (or a radio stream) is playing, everything is well. When
it stops (end of song), I can select an play any other song. So far so
good.
But if I skip track or select another album while one is currently
playing, I end up with a running progress bar, but no sound.
All other players (slimdevices/Squeezelite) works as they should. I can
cahnge to other players, select and play anything on any of them. But
whatever I do with the ChromeCast Audio device, there is no more sound.
There are no errors in the log.

The only way to make the ChromeCast play again, is to use my Samsung
Phone and the Google Home App to inspect cast devices and manually
terminate casting.
Then I can go back to LMS and the castbridge is again able to play as it
should.

As I said, this behavior began just a few days back, and is of course
quite annoying.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
